An original Hans J. Wegner GE-260A high-back lounge chair, designed for Getama in 1950 and manufactured in Denmark in the 1960s.
This rare Danish lounge chair retains its original blue wool upholstery, upholstered headrest and bears the original Hans Wegner / Getama marking.
Wegner began his collaboration with Getama in 1949. The GE-260A was designed the following year as the high-back version of the GE-260 lounge chair, with a solid oak frame and brass fittings. It is an exceptionally comfortable chair, designed for relaxed, supportive seating.
Condition
The chair is in excellent original condition and is ready for use without any restoration. The original wool upholstery shows very little wear, apart from a small area of rubbing around the headrest. The oak frame is in excellent condition, with its original patina.
Reupholstery in a different fabric can also be arranged on request.
